1. Services Overview
Hometown Movers Kenya provides professional moving, cleaning, installation, and transportation solutions across Nairobi and its environs, including Kilimani, Westlands, Karen, Runda, Kahawa Sukari, and surrounding areas. Our Services include but are not limited to:
- House and office moving/relocation
- Packing and unpacking services
- DSTV and TV mounting installations
- Sofa set and carpet cleaning
- Transport and delivery services
- Furniture disassembly and reassembly
All services are subject to availability and prior booking confirmation. We reserve the right to refuse service for any lawful reason.
2. Booking and Quotations
2.1. Quotes: All estimates provided via our website, phone, or in-person are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. Final pricing may vary based on actual inventory, distance, packing materials used, and unforeseen complexities (e.g., stairs without lift, narrow access).
2.2. Deposits: For large relocations or corporate moves, we may require a deposit of up to 30% to secure your moving date. Deposits are non-refundable if cancellation occurs less than 48 hours before the scheduled move.
2.3. Accuracy of Information: You agree to provide accurate and complete information regarding the scope of services, inventory, and access details. Any misrepresentation may result in additional charges or cancellation.
3. Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of services unless alternative arrangements have been made in writing. We accept M-Pesa, bank transfers, and cash. Late payments may incur a 5% interest charge per month. All prices are in Kenyan Shillings (KES).
4. Cancellation and Rescheduling
You may cancel or reschedule your move free of charge up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled start time. Cancellations within 48 hours may incur a cancellation fee of 25% of the estimated total. No-shows on the scheduled day will be charged the full quoted amount.
5. Liability and Insurance
5.1. Hometown Movers Kenya exercises utmost care in handling your belongings. However, we strongly recommend that you obtain comprehensive insurance coverage for high-value items (e.g., electronics, artwork, antiques).
5.2. Our liability for loss or damage is limited to the lesser of the actual repair cost or the depreciated value of the item, up to a maximum of KES 50,000 per shipment unless additional coverage is purchased in advance. Items packed by the client are not covered for internal damage.
5.3. We are not liable for loss or damage caused by events beyond our control, including natural disasters, civil unrest, theft after delivery, or pre-existing defects.
6. Client Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Clearly mark fragile items and ensure all liquids, hazardous materials, and flammable substances are properly packed or removed.
- Provide clear access to the pickup and delivery locations (parking, lift availability).
- Secure all personal valuables (cash, jewelry, important documents) before moving day; we advise transporting these personally.
- Disconnect utilities (e.g., washing machine, fridge water lines) unless prior arrangement is made for our technicians to assist.
7. Prohibited Items
We do not transport hazardous materials, explosives, firearms, perishable goods, live plants, or illegal substances. If such items are discovered, we reserve the right to terminate services immediately without refund.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of Hometown Movers Kenya and protected by Kenyan and international copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or exploit any part without prior written consent.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hometown Movers Kenya shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our Services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Hometown Movers Kenya, its employees, and affiliates harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of our Services.
11. Privacy
Your use of our website and Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using our Services, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Kenya. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nairobi, Kenya.
